I was born in Alexandria and have lived in the area my entire life. I graduated from the College of William and Mary, then worked for the U.S. Government for 34 years, including the Secret Service and the Departments of State and Transportation. I grew up with 3 dogs, but have spent the last 17 years being schooled by 9 cats (but never more than 5 at one time). I love to travel, and in 1993, during a visit to the United Kingdom, I had cocktails with Queen Elizabeth II (and about 200 of her other close friends).
