Dr. Jenny Owens grew up in Eagle River, AK exploring the Chugach Mountains. After graduating from Eagle River High School, she compromised with her love of Alaska and travel by spending time studying in Sweden, Australia, and in Fairbanks, AK. She graduated from the University of Fairbanks with her BS in Biology, Certificate in Veterinary Sciences, and Minor in Spanish. Dr. Owens took some time off after her undergraduate career to work in veterinary clinics both in Utqiagvik and Eagle River, AK. Her next adventure became veterinary medical school; she was a student in the 2+2 program between the University of Fairbanks and Colorado State University. She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University and the lure of her home state as well proximity to family drew her back to the Anchorage area.
In her free time, Dr. Owens enjoys spending time with her husband, twin boys, their two malamute mixes, and their family that live nearby. She is an avid fan of cross-country skiing, (especially skijoring), hiking, playing soccer, and fishing, and can often be found doing various crafting projects on the weekends. Her veterinary interests include diagnostic imaging and dentistry.
