Vanessa grew up in Thousand Oaks and began her veterinary career at the age of 12 volunteering and working as a kennel tech for general practice. She then starting working at Village Vet in Westlake when she was 14. Vanessa went on to get her AS in Veterinary Sciences from Pierce College and obtained her RVT license shortly thereafter. While in college, she started working nights and weekends in ER at PEC, which is now VSEC. She then joined us here at ASEC as a cardiology tech right after finishing school. Three years later she followed her passion as a technician for ER medicine and quickly became the supervisor. She is now the manager for the emergency and critical care department and is working towards her VTS-ECC. Vanessa loves caring for and growing all kinds of interesting plants aka green babies, and also enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, back-backing, camping, and running marathons.
