Dr. Baumgart obtained his veterinary degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He finished his clinical year at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Baumgart performed his externship at Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Facility and VCA Northwood Animal Hospital. Dr. Baumgart has experience as the sole veterinarian at his hospital in Southport, Indiana for 12 years. He moved to Florida to be closer to family almost 3 years ago. Dr. Baumgart is a general practitioner with interest in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, emergency, urgent care, internal medicine, canine sports medicine, dentistry and prophylactic care. Dr. Baumgart is certified to perform the TPLO procedure and is a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner (CCRP). Dr. Baumgart offers a variety of orthopedic procedures: TPLO, lateral imbrication, femoral head ostectomy, and the tibial crest transposition. His soft tissue experience includes perineal urethrostomies, Mass Removals, splenectomy, foreign body surgery, enterotomy and anastomoses, and other more common soft tissue procedures. Canine rehabilitation (also for felines) can be useful for post-operative orthopedic and neurologic procedure care, osteoarthritis, contractures, inflammatory processes, and neurologic conditions.
Dr. Baumgart, in his free time, enjoys spending time with his family, golf, body building and martial arts. Dr. Baumgart is married with three beautiful children. His faith is very important to him. He currently resides in Naples, Florida where he enjoys gardening with his wife and caring for his chickens and farm pets.
