April was born and raised in Illinois and is the youngest of three kids. She has an extensive background in marketing and management, but it was while working for a small dairy farm and cheese maker in Oregon that she realized how fulfilling a job dedicated to the wellbeing of animals is.

After moving to Alaska with her husband and two dogs, April decided she wanted to continue being an advocate for animals and joined VCA Big Lake Animal Hospital in August 2023.

Outside the clinic, April's favorite hobbies include cooking, gardening, traveling, collecting vinyl records, and enjoying any of Alaska's endless activities in the mountains or on the water.
