Dr. Zimmerman grew up in the Barrington area and worked under Dr. Noyes through high school as a kennel attendant and assistant. He then went to North Carolina State for his undergrad education and returned to Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary School in 2002. After veterinary school he completed a veterinary externship at the Shedd Aquarium, to enhance his ability to treat exotic and aquatic animals. He returned home and began working as an associate veterinarian at VCA Noyes in July of 2003. In 2006 he was promoted to the position of Medical Director.
In his spare time, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He relaxes by cheering on the Bears and the Bulls. At home, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys taking care of his zoo of animals including Noah his cream Golden Retriever pictured alongside him.
