Veterinary Assistant
Alex grew up in Wichita Falls, attended Hirschi High School, and graduated in 2002. She had a few serving jobs and decided surgery would be a fun endeavor so she went to school, got hired at United Regional and worked there for seven years as a scrub technician. Alex decided to venture out and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for ten months as a travel scrub technician, then moved to Oklahoma City. While in Oklahoma City, she started to tap into her creative side and was able to take a film editing class. Alex always wanted to be involved in making a movie, so that was a step in the right direction. She stepped away from her job in surgery and was able to focus on creating videos and learning photography. She was fortunate to have clients who wanted her to create videos for them. Alex had great experiences, learned many things and had the pleasure of traveling the country to beautiful places. When Covid-19 hit, she moved back to Wichita Falls to stay with her family and wanted a new challenge. While still working on her videography business, she applied at VCA. Alex has always had a big heart for animals and thought it would be fun to become a veterinary assistant. She loves all her coworkers and doctors she works with as well as the patients and clients. She enjoys seeing familiar faces as they bring their pets in. On any given day you can find Alex with her friends eating yummy Mexican food, especially salsa at one of the local restaurants. She enjoys catching a movie, traveling to nearby cities, or running around with her dog, Jax—he's the best boy ever! Alex also has a laid back cat named Kiki. She is anxiously waiting for the arrival of her new niece that her brother and sister in law will be having in a few months!
