Dr. Lanning grew up in the Bay Area and went to UC Davis as an undergraduate where she received a bachelor's degree in Genetics before completing her DVM degree at UC Davis. She moved with her family to the Redding area in 1999, and has been a veterinarian at VCA Companion Animal Hospital since June of that year. She enjoys the Redding area with all of its outdoor activities and here she happily raises two boys with her husband. After over 20 years at VCA Companion Animal Hospital, she was excited to become the medical director to help promote the friendly atmosphere of the hospital where clients and staff can form a close relationship to help facilitate the best care plans for their pets.

Her favorite part of the job (besides the animals of course), is establishing long term relationships with her clients and fostering the bond between humans and their furry family members. She has a special interest in dermatology and gastroenterology, and enjoys managing these long term challenging cases.
