Dr. Julie de Silvia grew up in Long Beach, California. She ventured to the east coast in 1996 to attend Duke University for her undergraduate. She completed her B.S in biology and Cameron crazy in 2000. She received her DVM in 2005 from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine after having spent three years on the island of Grenada and completing her clinical year at Auburn University. She spent three years working in NY but is happy to return to NC and be close to her alma mater, DUKE!
Dr. de Silvia enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a special interest in dentistry and internal medicine. She completed her MBA in Health Sector management in 2012 from St. George's University. She also completed her Veterinary Dental Practitioner Certification in 2022. Veterinary Dental Practitioners have undergone additional study, training, and assessment to enhance their knowledge and skills in veterinary dentistry, but they are NOT board-certified specialists. In her spare time she enjoys Camp Gladiator (ask her about it!) and reading. She lives in Cary with her husband and their two children. Their four-legged family includes an awesome mutt named Darcy, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lilly Pearl, and three cats, Frac, Nutmeg and Dobby.
