Dr. Julia Antczak joined VCA Encina Veterinary Medical Center in 2019. Originally from Concord, CA, she received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with pre-vet option at Oregon State University (GO BEAVS!), then went on to earn a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. Dr. Antczak has a strong interest in canine reproduction as well as sports medicine and rehabilitation. When asked what she likes most about her job, she replied: "I love client education. Helping my pet parents to make the most educated decision for the pets health is the best. Oh, and of course, puppies and kittens."
Outside of work, Dr. Antczak trains with her dogs for competition and sports! She believes training is a great way to connect with your pet. When not training, they are typically out in a kayak in the middle of the lake—the cat comes, too! Her other passion is photography, especially if it involves animals!
Dr. Antczak has 2 dogs, Meeko and Zippo, who are both Australian Cattle Dogs, and one domestic shorthair cat named Coral. She and her fiancé are hoping to add some livestock and horses to their household soon!
