Dr. Kainoa Johnson is an alumnus of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. Dr. Johnson has been a part of the VCA family since October 2020, when he started working for VCA Cottonwood Animal Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. With over 12 years of working experience in the veterinary field, he holds particular interests in soft tissue surgery, anesthesiology, toxicology, nutrition and internal medicine. In addition to his DVM, Kainoa also carries a robust background in microbiology, obtaining his Master of Science in Cell & Molecular Biology from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. These particular didactic experiences allow Dr. Johnson to offer well-rounded treatment plans based not only on sound scientific fundamentals, but with an understanding of mechanisms and physiology at the microscopic level.
