Medical Director
DVM, MBA
Dr. Saksen graduated from UC Davis in 2010 and completed an internship at Louisiana State University in 2011. He has spent his career in a number of general practice, emergency and management roles, and received an MBA in 2021. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate medical care for pets and their families, while promoting a healthy workplace for veterinarians and staff.
Dr. Saksen loves working with dogs, cats and exotic pets to ensure they live the longest, happiest lives possible. He is particularly interested in emergency medicine, neurology, surgery and radiology.
Currently, Dr. Saksen lives in Sebastopol with his wife Jessica (also a veterinarian). They welcomed their son Cade to the world in 2019, and twins Quinn and Reid in May 2022. They share a home with a Great Dane mix named Lyra, a Boxer named Lulu, a cat named Meatloaf, and a tank of African Cichlids. He's had a number of exotic pets through the years and is hoping to share this passion with his kids as they grow up.
Dr. Saksen has played hockey since childhood and it is still his favorite pastime. He and his wife enjoy traveling (particularly for scuba diving), hiking and home improvement projects.
