Makaela is a Washington State University Graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Management. She has been working with animals professionally for over 10 years, and has volunteered locally at the Woodland Park Zoo and Sammamish Animal Sanctuary.

One thing Makaela loves most about VCA is their animal welfare partnership with local shelters to provide a first free initial health exam after adoption. When she isn't greeting clients here at VCA Kent, you can find her training with her three rescue dogs: Kirby, Disney, and Gizmo. One day she plans to open a dog training facility of her own to foster and train rescue dogs in hopes to increase adoption rates and improve stereotypes for "Bully" type breeds.
