Ingrid Peterson grew up in Silicon Valley and attended Monta Vista High School. She graduated with honors from the University of California, Davis with a BS in Biological Sciences. She traveled to the Midwest for graduate school and graduated with honors from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM in 2004. She completed a Rotating Clinical Internship at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group. She began working with VCA Animal Hospital of Los Gatos in 2005.
Dr. Peterson has an interest in general medicine and dentistry, and her focus is canine and feline medicine. What Dr. Peterson enjoys most about her job is the variety of cases she sees each day; one day is never the same as the next.
Outside of work, Dr. Peterson enjoys participating in dog agility with her dogs, Elinor and Watson. She also enjoys reading novels, and Jane Austen novels in particular.
She has two cats named Emma and Mr. Darcy.
