Dr. Vicki Martinez grew up in northeast Iowa. She obtained a BA in Music Education from Azusa Pacific University in southern California before returning to Iowa to go to veterinary school. She graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, spent two years practicing in Spokane, Washington, and then arrived in the Dallas area where she has since been practicing.

Dr. Martinez enjoys a spending time with her husband Ben, daughter Marisa, and son Anthony, as well as Krypto the dog and cats Tigger, Phoebus, Ariel and Jade Fox. Blueberry the parakeet also resides in the Martinez household. Dr. Martinez also enjoys reading, crocheting, traveling, watching movies, being involved in instrumental groups, and watching PBR bull riding.
