Dr. Kevin Lisenbee joined VCA Northwest Animal Hospital in March of 2017 from another practice in town where he worked for 2.5 years. He is originally from Oklahoma, where he grew up in the suburbs of Tulsa with his two sisters. He loves enjoying the fresh mountain air and all that Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region have to offer and is excited to promote VCA Northwest Animal Hospital in its mission to provide the best care in Colorado Springs. In high school, Dr. Lisenbee received his Eagle Scout award, and is very proud of it to this day. After completing his bachelor's degree in physiology at Oklahoma State University, he went on to attend veterinary school at Oklahoma State University as well, graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May 2014. As a general practitioner, Dr. Lisenbee provides primary care for pets of all ages, and has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, client education, and preventive care. "As a veterinarian, it is my distinct pleasure to work with families to provide the best care possible for not only their pets, but for their family as a whole," he said. "I believe that client education is a crucial part to any hospital visit, as it provides pet owners with a better understanding of what exactly is going on with their pets, thus allowing them to be better stewards of their pet's care."
Dr. Lisenbee enjoys hiking, camping, and backpacking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Yearlong Dr. Lisenbee loves going to new restaurants and breweries. Though he would like to become more active, he still enjoys more leisurely activities such as pub trivia, following college and pro football, following OKC Thunder basketball, watching Sci-fi movies, and playing the occasional video game. Some of his life goals are to write a novel and crest a fourteener
In January 2024, Dr. Lisenbee and his wife, Tanna, welcomed a new family member, "Pippin", an adorable black and tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
