Dr. Sarah McCormack graduated from Tufts Cummings University of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 and completed a year of internship at New England Animal Medical Center. She began her career in Boston, MA working in a cat-only clinic, then a variety of busy companion animal, avian, and exotic animal practices. After moving to Portland, she worked locally in a mixed small animal practice and joined VCA Rock Creek in 2023. She enjoys all aspects of general practice especially Fear Free approach, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and exotic animal practice.
Originally from England, she lived a nomadic lifestyle growing up with her parents and lived in California, Indonesia [twice], England, Texas, Connecticut, and Boston MA. She has been married for 14 years to her neurologist husband Andrew and has two spirited kids (James 8 and Zoe 6). At home, she has a slew of rescue pets including an anxiety-ridden rescue mutt named Brie, a bearded dragon named Bob, and two leopard geckos called Snap and Twilight. In her spare time, she enjoys arts and crafts, exploring, reading, gardening/indoor plants, playing with her kids, board games, traveling, improv comedy, and dancing.
