Dr. Gumash received her DVM degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019, spending her clinical year at The Ohio State University. After graduating from veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in small animal emergency, medicine and surgery at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists. For the year following her rotating internship, Dr. Gumash served as an emergency clinician and oncology intern at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists and Bay State Veterinary Emergency Services. Dr. Gumash then went on to complete a medical oncology residency at the University of Tennessee, after which she joined the VCA South Shore (Weymouth) Animal Hospital team as part of the Medical Oncology service in 2024.
Dr. Gumash is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Oncology. She enjoys all aspects of medical oncology and has a special interest in the treatment of canine and feline lymphoma, a multimodal treatment approach, and palliative and hospice care. Dr. Gumash feels privileged to have the opportunity to provide compassionate care to clients' furry friends and to walk alongside them during their pet's cancer journey.
