Parker Wilcox
Veterinarian Specialist - Ophthalmology DVM, DACVO

Dr. Parker Wilcox received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science degree from the University of Connecticut. Immediately following his undergraduate education, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University. After veterinary school, Dr. Wilcox completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, followed by a one-year specialty internship in ophthalmology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, before beginning his residency.

Dr. Wilcox completed his residency in comparative ophthalmology at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center in 2023. He then successfully completed and passed a rigorous three-day written and practical board examination, earning status as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (DACVO). Immediately following residency, Dr. Wilcox provided ophthalmology services to an emergency and specialty hospital in Ohio as the sole ophthalmologist. As a Connecticut native, he has decided it's time to move back home to CT and put down roots. He's very excited to grow relationships with regional veterinarians and provide excellent care for patients in his home state.

Dr. Wilcox has performed and published research in the fields of canine glaucoma and ulcerative keratitis. His special interests include adnexal, corneal and lens diseases and microsurgery. Dr. Wilcox's favorite aspect of veterinary ophthalmology is forming bonds and working with all his patients and clients. His goal as an ophthalmologist is to provide exceptional medical and surgical care, ensuring that pet owners feel included, educated and supported in the process.

Outside of work, Dr. Wilcox enjoys spending time with his partner, Carey, and standard poodle, Clementine. He enjoys the outdoors, snowboarding, traveling, cooking and making music.
