Biography:
Dr. Kate Palmer is a Madison-area native. She was originally planning to specialize in dairy and herd health medicine, but fell in love with companion animal emergency medicine in her first year of vet school; she also has an interest in exotic companion animal medicine. In the past, Dr. Palmer has volunteered with child abuse survivors, wildlife rehabilitation (crows and snakes are her favorite), and farm animal sanctuaries. Before veterinary school, she spent about three years as a veterinary microbiologist in the Virology section at Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. In her free time, Dr. Palmer enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, hiking and running with her golden retrievers, playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, reading science fiction and fantasy novels, video games, embroidery, and gardening.
