Dr. Kacie Martin was born and raised in Clovis, NM along with her one brother. She attended Colorado State University (CSU) and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Following graduation she was able to spend some time in Thailand volunteering at a gibbon sanctuary. After returning home, she returned to CSU to complete her Master of Science in Anatomy, followed by her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, received in 2005. During veterinary school, she completed a course on grief counseling and became certified in veterinary acupuncture. After veterinary school, she moved to Albuquerque, NM and completed a one-year internship at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital with a focus on internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, general practice, and emergency medicine. Following her internship, in 2006, she began working at VCA Wyoming Animal Hospital. Kacie shares her home with her 2 dogs, Lilly and Jaxson, 4 cats, Mikey, Phoenix, Louie, and Mreow, and 2 turtles. In her free time, Kacie enjoys gardening, hiking, and traveling.
