Dr. Chiang joined the VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital in July 2006. A native Texan, she received her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Chicago in 1997. She then taught high school science in rural North Carolina through the Teach For America Service Program before pursuing her veterinary degree at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While in vet school, Dr. Chiang traveled to Thailand and Nicaragua to experience various facets of veterinary medicine, including exotic species medicine and sustainable livestock production. After receiving her veterinary degree, Dr. Chiang completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA. In 2010, she completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society course in veterinary acupuncture. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, as well as reading, baking and dreaming of traveling.
