Dr. Hiroko Hata joined VCA All About Pets Animal Hospital in October 2012. She had previously worked at VCA San Martin Animal Hospital for over a year. She was born and raised in Japan and moved to southern California when she was 10. She completed an intensive rotating internship in Tucson, AZ, where she discovered her love for internal medicine, neurology...and dachshunds!
When not in the hospital, she can be found spoiling her rescue dogs, Bunny (not a dachshund) and Simon (still not a dachshund), on hiking trails and beaches, discovering new food in the Bay Area, and spending time with family and friends....
Katie grew up in Southern California before moving to Monterey County. That is where she worked at her last veterinary hospital for 15 years before joining All About Pets. She has worked in veterinary medicine for over 20 years. Katie has four kids, a husband and three cats at home waiting for her everyday when she arrives after working with her amazing team. She enjoys hiking, strength training, riding the family motorcycle with her husband and going to car shows in her spare time.
