Dr. Van Hooser is a graduate of Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He has a lovely wife, Joy, who enjoys walking their dog "Buddy." They have three boys, William, Wilson and Walker. Deep sea fishing, biking, golf and Auburn sports are his personal hobbies but he spends most time chasing his boys and pets.

Dr. Van Hooser has four dogs, Buddy, Kittie, Dann, and Hayes and two cats, Puppy and Phillip Fox.

In practice, Dr. Van Hooser most enjoys orthopedics and neurosurgery. He also enjoys challenging internal medicine cases.

Dr. Van Hooser can be seen on WSFA Channel 12 "The Pet Vet" every Monday at 11:30 a.m. He has been on this program for over 14 years. He has served on the board of the Montgomery Humane Society, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Montgomery and is an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He is also a member of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.
