Dr. Lano was born in Minnesota and studied veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota. Her interest in veterinary medicine has been shaped by a desire to repay animals for the gift of their companionship by providing them with the best care possible.

Her professional special interests include renal and urinary diseases, dermatology, dentistry, nutrition, and preventative medicine. She has a particular soft spot for patients who are fearful of the vet, and takes pride in working with clients to develop techniques to reduce the stress of veterinary visits as much as possible.

Dr. Lano grew up with Labrador retrievers, and today is as much a cat person as she is a dog person. She shares her home with a German shepherd mix (Rupert) and two medium-haired cats (Ole and Bunny). In her free time she enjoys gardening, board game nights, creating artwork, and learning the Polish language.
