Dr. Cruz has been a veterinarian with VCA since August of 2022. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Cruz received a PhD in toxicology from Rutgers University followed by a post-doc at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She spent a couple years in industry before pursuing her passion for animal welfare. Dr. Cruz received her DVM degree from Colorado State University in 2022. During veterinary school, she worked with a wide range of animals from dogs and cats to sheep, goats, and wildlife. She collaborated with various organizations to provide low cost veterinary medicine to local communities and aboard.

Dr. Cruz lives with her husband and 2 dogs, Sprout (a crazy cattle dog) and Tallulah (a magnificent mutt). In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, and baking. Dr. Cruz is grateful to be able to support the human animal bond through veterinary medicine. Since adopting her anxious dog, Tallulah, she is passionate about behavior.
