Dr. Belle Tiau was born and raised in Taiwan. From an early age, she had a strong connection to animals. Her passion for helping animals originated at a young age, as she witnessed the unmet needs of the large stray animal population in Taiwan. Dr. Tiau attended high school in British Columbia. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta. Dr. Tiau moved to Oregon and graduated with her DVM from Oregon State University. Go Beavers! She completed a small animal rotating internship at a specialty hospital in San Francisco before joining VCA North Portland.
Outside of work, she volunteers with PAWS Team providing free vet care. During her free time, you can find Dr. Tiau enjoying both outdoor and culinary adventures. She recharges by spending quality time with her wife, scruffy dog (Sheldon), and two mischievous kitties (Skittles and Marvin).
