VCA Old River Animal Hospital takes pride in being one of the oldest and most established hospitals in the Tracy area. We proudly serve the dogs and cats of Mountain House, Banta, Lathrop, Carbona, and surrounding areas. Our veterinary hospital offers extended hours with early patient drop-offs, as early as 7am on weekdays and 8am on Saturday.
Our hospital takes great pride in offering a full range of quality pet care and services, including internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, radiology, ultrasound, puppy and kitten plans, senior wellness plans, nutritional counseling, and dog/cat boarding. As a VCA hospital, our staff has immediate consultation and referral access to a wide range of veterinary specialists, including: surgery, oncology, cardiology, reproduction, and critical care. These on-site consultations are performed by a board-certified radiology specialist for x-ray review and ultrasound. We also offer on-site surgery performed by a board-certified surgical specialist.
As a longstanding part of the Tracy community, we are proud sponsors of youth baseball/soccer teams and other high school spots. We are a member of the Tracy Chamber of Commerce and continue to support their activities. We enjoy working with the community because we are part of the community.
At VCA Old River Animal Hospital, your pet's care is our top priority. Whether it's check-ups and vaccinations or a specialized procedure, the care of your pet is as important to us as it is to you. Caring for your pet isn't just our profession; it's our passion. As a member of the family, your companion deserves the best and most compassionate care they can receive.
Local Medical Issues
There are numerous local medical issues that can impact your pet's health and that require your attention over the entire year. For example, there's heartworm, which can affect both cats and dogs. Because it's transmitted by mosquitoes, which thrive in our region, it's a serious cause for concern. And because the winter temperatures here do not get cold enough to kill mosquito eggs, it's a year-round risk. The same is true for flea and tick infestation and intestinal parasites, each of which poses a problem in any season. And finally, contrary to what you'd expect, allergies are a year-round issue. Many pets suffer from skin and ear allergies, the signs of which include scratching, redness in the ears, and "scaly" skin.
We harness the scale and strength of our global network while acknowledging each individual's contribution. We work locally to improve the lives of all who interact with our brand.
