Team Spotlight
Dr. Kyla Garrels graduated from Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences in 2008. Dr. Garrels treats dogs and cats, but also treats rabbits, pocket pets, birds and reptiles. She enjoys dermatology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Garrels is a native to Oklahoma City, but has called Apopka home since 2008.
Dr. Garrels shares her home with 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 rabbits, 1 iguana, and a 90lb tortoise. In her spare time, she is kept busy by her husband, Andrew, and 2 young daughters. She enjoys reading, spending time at the beach, and going to Disney with her girls.
Tara has been a dedicated member of the VCA team since 2005 and graduated with her bachelor's degree in business organization and leadership. She enjoys spending her free time with her adult daughter, going hiking, camping, kayaking, river rafting, or to the beach. She also enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with friends and family. Tara has rescued many pets over the years and currently has a black lab-shepherd mix named Porter, two kitties named Grady and Wreck-it-Ralph, a yellow belly slider named Sheldon, and a bearded dragon named Norbert.
