With over 14 years of experience as a veterinarian, Dr. Phil Blais' passion for veterinary medicine began as a bird-of-prey rehabilitator at the Vermont Raptor Center in Quechee, Vermont followed by a career as a Veterinary Technician. Within a few years, Dr. Blais realized his desire to become a veterinarian. A graduate of Skidmore College, Dr. Blais earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1992, and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation from Tufts, Dr. Blais completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth, MA. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Blais became an Associate Veterinarian at VCA Westboro Animal Hospital for over 12 years and worked as a surgeon at the Sterling Animal Shelter.

"I am excited to be a part of the Sterling Animal Hospital family and to meet such wonderful people and their pets who live in our community. I am also very fortunate to work with such dedicated and professional staff, technicians and doctors," says Dr. Blais.

Dr. Blais' special interests in veterinary medicine include Internal Medicine, Dentistry and Endoscopy. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, (MVMA) and is USDA Accredited for international health certifications for pets. Dr. Blais also functions as an adjunct professor for Tufts Cumming's School of Veterinary Medicine, mentoring fourth year veterinary students through their externship clinic rotations.

Dr. Blais resides in Princeton, MA, and enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son. The family pets include two border collies, a rat terrier and a cat. In his free time, he enjoys growing vegetables, tennis, fly fishing and mountain biking.
