VCA Todds Lane Animal Hospital is not just a health clinic for animals; it is also a full-service hospital for animals. We not only offer boarding, diagnostic lab work, diagnostic testing and surgery. Todds Lane has an area set aside for those animals needing intensive care. What is intensive care? In a human hospital it is the unit known as ICU. This means that a nurse or doctor continuously monitors the patient. Heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rates and pain levels are closely observed and noted by the supervising staff member. The goal of intensive care is to heal the animal through medical intervention until they are considered stable and can be released to their home or stepped down to the kennel area for close supervision, but a little more freedom to move around and interact with staff members.
