Dr. Audrey Kennedy was born and raised in Texas. She has one older brother, Trevor, who is her best friend. She has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a little girl and never gave up on her dream. Dr. Kennedy is beyond grateful for the continuous love and support of her friends and family along her journey to become a veterinarian. She earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Southern Methodist University and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University.
Dr. Kennedy has two dogs, Zoey and Stitch, and two cats, Angus and Cookie, that she rescued from Saint Kitts. They are her family and home is wherever they are! While in Saint Kitts completing the didactic portion of veterinary school, Dr. Kennedy also discovered her passion for the ocean. She invested her time in snorkeling and scuba diving outside of her studies. Being able to observe and coexist with magnificent aquatic species in the water fueled her desire to become a veterinarian even further. In the future she hopes to gain more experience with aquatic animals through conservation work.
In her free time Dr. Kennedy enjoys doing acro yoga, hiking with her dogs, going to concerts and eating delicious food (not cooking it). She also plans to continue her travels around the world to experience and learn more about other cultures.
Dr. Kennedy is new to the Albuquerque area, but immediately felt at home here for several reasons: the warm and inclusive atmosphere at VCA West Mesa Hospital, the enchanting Sandia Mountains, and of course the green chile. She is ecstatic to begin her career as a veterinarian after working her whole life to get here. Dr. Kennedy believes it is one of the greatest honors to be able to help animals and their families
