Dr. Rachel Wood grew up in Western Washington where she learned to love the rain.  She graduated with a bachelor's degree in microbiology at Washington State University where she continued her education and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.  After graduating in 2010, she served as a Captain in the US Army Veterinary Corps for 6 years where she worked with public health and food safety as well as working with military and companion pets. Back in Washington, she now lives with her husband, her children, three dogs (Hogan, Jada, and Achilles) and a cat (Seeker). She was excited to join the Alderwood Companion team in the spring of 2016 where she still hopes to return her focus to clinical veterinary medicine and broaden her veterinary knowledge and experience.
