Dr. Leann Shaw is a California native who obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of California Riverside. She then pursued her Masters degree in veterinary biomedical science at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee. Upon completion, she then pursued a small animal rotating medicine and surgery internship at Purdue University in Indiana. From there she returned to sunny southern California as an emergency veterinarian at VCA California Veterinary Specialists.
Her particular areas of interest include surgery, wound management, neurology, and places heavy emphasis on the human-animal bond. She is certified in Diversity and Inclusion within Veterinary Medicine, Fear Free techniques, and has obtained her Veterinary Business Management with honors certificate.
In her free time. Dr. Shaw enjoys spending time with her husband traveling and visiting the U.S. National Parks, hiking, rock climbing, and board games. She currently owns three dogs—a dachshund mix, a chihuahua, and a husky. Her favorite dog breed is the dachshund!
