Dr. O'Leary joined us in 2021 following a year at VCA Ventana Animal Hospital in New Mexico and a year at VCA Vaughn Road in Alabama. Dr. O'Leary saw exotic pets in New Mexico and founded an exotics service during his time at Vaughn Road. He is passionate about birds, and his goal is to become specialty boarded in avian medicine. Dr. O'Leary is Fear Free™ Certified for avian species, and he earned a Veterinary Business Management Certificate while in vet school. 

Prior to earning his DVM at the University of Florida, he spent several years working as a veterinary technician. Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Dr. O'Leary is a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, as well as an avid hiker, bird watcher, and board game enthusiast. 

He recently moved to the Boston area with his fiancé, who is a zoological companion animal resident at Tufts University. They share their home with two cats, two snakes, two rabbits, a leopard gecko, an Amazon milk frog and six starry night reed frogs (as well as all of Dr. O'Leary's many plants).
